Foxton Surf Life Saving Club Membership Terms and Conditions

1. The Club aligns itself with the SLSNZ operations and membership management system known as PAM (Patrol And Membership)
1. An active (rolled over) membership for the season requires you to be a financial member of the Club/SLSNZ (subs paid up).
2. PAM will not accept entries, course bookings or awards until members are active and rolled over to the new season.
2. I consent to the collection of the membership details by FSLSC to be used and disclosed to SLSNZ, its organisations and partners of FSLSC for the purpose of club membership, course enrolments and club promotion.
3. This information can be used by the FSLSC ‘s database in order to implement effective administration systems and to provide general information to member and group statistical data finders, sponsors and media.
4. I agree that photos of club members (including club parents and children) taken during the course of club activities may be used for the purposes of club publicity and celebrations, for example published in club publications, including on the website and social media platform like Facebook and instagram.
5. Membership information is collected and held in accordance with the Privacy Act 1993.
6. I understand that whilst the Club will take all reasonable steps to ensure the safety of myself (or my child) whilst engaged in any activity, training or competition as a member of FSLSC, the Club is not responsible for my (or my children’s) safety.
7. I understand that, as a parent or appointed guardian, I am responsible for the safety of any children in my care whilst on the beach or in the Clubhouse and will ensure that a parent or appointed guardian will be on the beach with them at all times.
8. I agree to abide by the FSLSC constitution, polices, regulations and rules.
9. Each membership application will be considered by the FSLSC Board at its next monthly meeting and unless advised otherwise the application will be deemed accepted after 30 days from it being received (with full payment) by a Board authorised person. 

Surf Life Saving New Zealand (SLSNZ) Membership Terms and Conditions

1. The details set out in the Application for Membership are true and correct. If they change, I acknowledge that I am required to notify my Club of the changes, in writing, as soon as possible after they occur.
2. I will be bound by the constitutions, regulations, policies, manuals, guidelines and reasonable directions of the Club and SLSNZ respectively.
3. I have voluntarily accepted and assumed the inherent risk of danger and injury in surf lifesaving.
4. I will not hold my Club, SLSNZ or their respective officers responsible for any claims, losses and expenses which may arise from or in connection with my membership and/or participation in any activity authorised or recognised by my Club or SLSNZ, except in the case of gross negligence or a wilful act or omission on the part of my Club or SLSNZ.
5. I indemnify my Club and SLSNZ from all claims, losses and expenses suffered or incurred at any time, occurring as a result of or resulting directly or indirectly from my failure to observe the constitutions, regulations, policies, manuals, guidelines and reasonable directions of my Club and SLSNZ respectively.
6. I am medically and physically fit and do not suffer from any disease or condition, either physical or mental that would affect my ability to safely participate in any authorised or recognised activities of my Club or SLSNZ. If I am unsure about this declaration, or suffer from such a condition, I am aware that I must bring it to the attention of my Club and SLSNZ.
7. I understand that my Club and SLSNZ will collect personal information about me for the purpose of:
1. processing my application for membership
2. providing me with information relating to my interest group(s) (if I have ticked the box(es);
3. providing me with information and activities relating to my Club and SLSNZ
8. I understand that my personal information will only be used for the purposes listed in paragraph 7 and that:
1. my personal information will be held securely
2. I will have access to my personal information upon request
3. my personal information will be corrected upon request
9. I accept that both the Club and SLSNZ have overriding discretion to decline a membership application for any reason. Provided the Club or SLSNZ does not decline the membership application, I agree and understand that upon payment of my membership fee (if any) I will become a member of my Club and SLSNZ and that by paying such fee each year by the due date, I will continue to be a member of my Club, and SLSNZ, unless I resign or my membership is terminated.
